6thDegree is a media outreach tool operated by Zach Suter, trading as No Equal Consulting. It helps people find podcasts and shows to appear on, and keeps track of who they have contacted. This policy explains what it collects and who it is shared with.
6thDegree is operated by Zach Suter, a sole proprietor trading as No Equal Consulting. There is no separate registered company; the data controller is Zach Suter personally. For any question about this policy, or to ask us to delete your data, email privacy@6thdegree.io.
Your email address and a password, which is stored only as a hash by our authentication provider. We never see or store your actual password. We also record when your account was created and when you last signed in.
The projects, contacts, notes, outreach records and relationships you create. This is your working data and we treat it as yours.
This is the part worth reading carefully. 6thDegree records information about podcast hosts, shows and their guests, gathered from public sources: names, show descriptions, publicly listed follower counts, publicly listed contact details, and which shows a person has appeared on. These people are not users of 6thDegree and have not agreed to this policy.
We only ever collect what is already publicly published, we do not bypass logins, paywalls or anti-scraping measures, and we do not build profiles beyond what is needed to answer “who could introduce me to this show”. If you are named in our data and want it removed, email us at the address above and we will delete it.
We log server errors, which can include the page or request that failed, and an activity trail of actions taken inside a project.
We also record how the product is used, in our own database rather than in a third-party analytics service: that an account was created, a project was created, a map was started, finished or failed, a contact was opened, or outreach was logged. Alongside each we keep counts, such as how many episodes were read and how long a run took. These records identify you by a one-way hash of your email address rather than the address itself, they never contain the contents of your work, and they are deleted after twelve months.
We use the Meta pixel, from Meta Platforms, to measure whether our advertising reaches people who find the product useful. It sets cookies in your browser and records a small number of events: that you created an account, created a project, started building a map, and finished one. Alongside each event we send counts, such as how many episodes were read and how many people the map found, and how long the run took.
We do not send Meta the contents of your work. Not the name of your show, not the names of any contacts, not any part of your map. Only counts and the name of the event.
Some of these events are also sent from our servers rather than your browser, using Meta's Conversions API, so that measurement still works when a browser blocks the pixel. Where that happens we send your email address hashed, never in the clear, which lets Meta match the event to an existing profile without us handing over the address itself. We also pass on the advertising identifiers Meta's own cookies already hold, and your IP address and browser user agent, which Meta requires to attribute an event.
Meta processes this as an independent controller under its own terms. If you would rather not be measured this way, browser tracking protection and ad blockers stop the pixel, and you can manage what Meta does with advertising data in your Meta account settings.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your project data to train machine learning models.
6thDegree uses YouTube API Services. We use them to search for channels, read publicly available channel information such as subscriber counts, and read the titles and descriptions of recent public videos, so we can identify shows and who has appeared on them.
We only ever read public data. We do not ask you to connect your own YouTube account, and we do not access any private YouTube data belonging to you.
By using 6thDegree you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You can review and revoke third-party access to your Google data at the Google security settings page.
We store only what is needed to show you a show and who has appeared on it: a channel’s public subscriber count, its identifier, and the names of people mentioned as guests in public video titles and descriptions.
Any YouTube data we hold is refreshed or deleted within 30 days. An automated job runs every week: it re-reads current values from the YouTube API for every channel we have stored, and deletes any record that has not been successfully refreshed in the last 30 days, which is what happens when a channel is removed, made private or renamed. Cached search results expire automatically after 30 days.
You can delete any stored show or person from your project at any time, which removes it immediately. Deleting your account removes all of it. If you ask us to delete data about you, we will do so within 7 days.
We use these services to run 6thDegree. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job.
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosting. Sees requests to the app. |
| Supabase | Database and sign-in. Stores your account and project data. |
| Resend | Sends account email. Receives your email address. |
| Stripe | Payments, if you subscribe. Receives your email address and takes your card details directly. Card numbers never reach our servers and we never see them. |
| YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Podcast Index | Public show and episode data. They receive our search terms, not your identity. |
| Anthropic | Judges whether a show matches a topic. Receives show names and public descriptions, never your account data. |
| Tavily | Web search, used to find a show’s official website. |
| Tomba | Looks up publicly available business contact details for a company domain. |
| Meta, X | Public follower counts, when that feature is used. |
Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Our database provider encrypts what it stores at rest, and access to it is limited to the application itself.
We never see or store your password. Sign-in is handled by Supabase, which holds credentials on our behalf, and we never see or store card details either: payment happens on Stripe's own pages and card numbers do not reach our servers.
Inside the app, a project is visible only to the people invited to it. Error logs and the analytics records described above are readable only by the operator account, are identified by a one-way hash of an email address rather than the address, and are deleted on a schedule rather than kept indefinitely.
No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. If you find a problem, write to hello@6thdegree.io and we will look at it.
Data is stored in the United States. We keep your account and project data for as long as your account exists. Server error logs are automatically deleted after 90 days. Cached search results and stored YouTube data are refreshed or deleted within 30 days, as described above.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing or to complain to a data protection authority. Email privacy@6thdegree.io and we will respond.
You can delete your own account from the account page inside the app at any time. If you are the only owner of a project, you will be asked to delete that project or hand it to someone else first, so a project is never left with nobody able to reach it. Deleting a project deletes everything in it: its contacts, relationships and outreach history. Deleting your account removes your access and your login.
6thDegree is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be notified by email to account holders.
